Finding God and Knowing God Personally
This will explain how you can personally begin a relationship with God, right now.
We shall take a look at different passages and verses from the Bible to discover how to know the real truth about God and salvation.
In Romans 3:23 says, “Since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God,”
Although we may try to get close to God through our own effort, we will inevitably fail. Sin has made a gap between us and God. You may be trying to be a good person by doing well for others, or trying religious rituals, but the problem is that none of these good efforts actually cover up our sin or remove it.
Our sin is known by God and stands as a barrier between us and God.
In Romans 6:23 also says, ”For the wages of SIN is DEATH, but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The penalty for sin is death which is eternally condemnation and separation from God. But no matter how much we try to stop sinning we keep falling and failing.
Knowing that sin is the very thing that keeps us away from God should move us to take a conscience decision to forsake sin and to have nothing to do with it. Who can help us and deliver us?
In John 3:16 we read: “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."
God cares for us and loves us very much therefore He provided a Saviour to deliver us from the power of sin.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
There is only one person that can help us overcome and remove sin from our lives, Jesus Christ the Son of God. There is no salvation in any other. No one has the power to cleanse us from our sins and give us eternal life. The price to pay is too costly and impossible to pay.
Jesus being God together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, took the form of a human, was born of a woman and became 100% man, yet 100% God. He left the glories of Heaven, humble Himself to willingly die for sinners condemned to hell because of their sin. He gave Himself as a sacrifice to fulfill all justice, and He laid down His life paying the price of our penalty. He carried in His body all the sin, shame and guilt of the world. He shed His blood for the forgiveness and freedom from sin to anyone who would accept Him as His Saviour.
God accepted His sacrifice by resurrecting Him from the dead at the third day. His resurrection proved what He said He was, the Son of God. Jesus of Nazareth was the only one who conquered the grave and defeat death. Now He offers salvation to anyone who will come to Him.
“He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we have done, but because of His own compassion and mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth (spiritual transformation, regeneration) and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that we would be justified [made free of the guilt of sin] by His [compassionate, undeserved] grace, and that we would be [acknowledged as acceptable to Him and] made heirs of eternal life [actually experiencing it] according to our hope (His guarantee).” (Titus 3:5-7 AMP)
When we didn’t deserve it Christ died for us, and now He invites you to come to God through Him.
Will you put your faith in Him? Will you trust Him?
To know Him is to know God; to love Him is to love God, because Jesus is God’s love gift to the world.
You must individually accept Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.
Finally, In Romans 10:9 tells us, “…if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
You can receive Christ right now. Would you like to respond to his invitation?
Below is an example of a prayer you can make, but it’s important that you speak to God with words from your heart. Humble yourself before Him and receive His mercy.
